You love your new headshot because you chose a photographer that you dig, did your prep, got your clothes together, showed up on time, and nailed the session! Take as much responsibility for your session as your photographer. Trust your photographer to get you in the right light and on the right angles. You bring the intention and the energy. It is a true collaboration. Look out for my blog every week as I break down the process from portfolio review through getting your prints.

Interesting posting about why actors succeed in Film, TV and Theatre on today’s posting on Actor-preneur. Without the proper commercial and theatrical headshots, it will make it harder to get in the talent agents and casting directors door.

I wonder who took Gidget the Chihuahua headshot?
Gidget the Chihuahua, whose Taco Bell commercials made her a star, has died. She was 15.
Gidget was the spokesperson in Taco Bell commercials from 1997 to 2000. While other dogs had bit parts, it was her bug-eyed, big-eared face that was seen pronouncing “Yo quiero Taco Bell,” Spanish for “I want Taco Bell,” in a male voice dubbed by Argentine actor Carlos Alazraqui.
Carlos Alazraqui was cast in the commercial by Terry Berland of Berland Casting, a Los Angeles and New York Casting office, mostly for human actors.

A variation on this question prompted me to post a new article about why you need professional headshots (instead of letting your friend take them).
It really does matter, and it really does make a difference!
As an actor, I’ve experienced the difference myself, and posted my own history of how it effected my own acting career.
Agents and casting directors can’t stress it enough… a professional headshot just stands out next to snapshots and amateur photos taken by hobbyists.
And welcome to the newest additions to Headshot Blog!

New York Headshots for Actors that Work!

Wearing layers for a headshot photo session (for example) a t-shirt and jacket can be very helpful. Being able to do a headshot in your t-shirt keeps it very simple.
Then layering your jacket over the same t-shirt gives you two looks for the price of one! Great ideas on wear to find affordable acting wardrobe for your acting headshots are places such as Target, Gap and Banana Republic.

With the Screen Actors Guild strive avoided, it is a great time to consider new headshots.
Speak with your talent agent or manager to see if you need them now. You can also look at the TVI Actors Studio Free Headshot Gallery online and see the top New York and Los Angeles Headshot Photographers.
